Through an exploration of the classic story "The Giving Tree", by Israeli author Shel Silverstein, pupils are encouraged to appreciate and consider their relationships as carers of the world. (The lesson plan is an extract taken directly from Tzedek's successful Jewish Festival Resource for KS1, which can be downloaded for free from Tzedek's website, www.tzedek.org.uk).
